Re: X-TRA POLLS Round #5 | What type of ship do you primarily use?

Surprised that L and XL are keeping pace with each other so far, considering so few of the XL are combat ships. I had expected there would be a lot more people in L ships than XL ones based purely on the added variety in them. You wonder about the appeal of Asgard & Erlking? No, I voted for XL myse...

Re: Missile Fuel Changes?

Maybe you had VRO or something? I know that makes a lot of range changes.

Missiles (and everything) in vanilla have always had really short ranges.

Re: The dirt on the windows of spaceships is a bug. - not a bug

On S and M ships I can imagine some material (ice probably) getting on there since they do actually land in parts of a station where people appear to be breathing. And while their being there like that is extremely unrealistic, the game is full of very dense asteroid fields. You could say the dust i...

Hope that is not intentional. Low drop rates would make a tedious grind out of an already boring fight against something that only tries to run away.

Re: Why even require a ship trader for wharfs and shipyards?

I'd guess it's so player-owned shipyards (etc) have the same functionality as faction-owned - can either buy ships remotely via the map if you're in a hurry, or dock & find the ship trader if you prefer to interact directly with an NPC. Might be some complaints from players who prefer the latter op...

Re: X-TRA POLLS Round #5 | What type of ship do you primarily use?

Really depends on the state of my save. Early on I use S and M ships for money-making. In a default start, I'll mine crystals or gather war loot for money to get tier 3 equipment on my basic fighter. Use that to scout for a while, then start to bail M ships, until I get an M with enough firepower to...

Re: What is the most fustrating experience u constanty get by playing this game..

I think what frustrates me most about X4 is that for what is nominally a sandbox game there aren't really many ways to play it, in the sense that if you're not building a trade/industrial empire there is zero depth or progression. Any playstyle involving only one personal ship is very shallow, becau...

Re: So the new dlc coming will use ai generated voice work it says on steam page

Come one - actors doing Boso Ta, Dal Busta and Terran Secret Service lady done very good job. Some are okay but unless they replace the really weird ones the whole experience gets dragged down. It's like the audio equivalent of those old Paranid ships. As far as AI voices go, I'll be honest if you'...

I have such low expectations for the voice lines in this game I don't think I can even be disappointed anymore.

Now I wonder what was up with my gate fleet not collecting these. Can ships overkill in low attention? I know when I'm nearby that tends to be the fate of anything I don't bail personally.

Re: [7.0 Beta 5][Feedback] M-sized Xenons are way to often abandoning their ships

Hm... I did not really notice them doing this when bailing them in a fighter. I still had to follow a target XEN ship around and intentionally avoid killing it. Maybe not as long as with other ships, but frankly, following something around tapping it after it is functionally defeated is not very int...

I wanted to do that once but was disappointed to find I could not assign more specific roles to subordinates of a station with those like I can with a carrier. So I ended up ditching that idea.

Re: [Poll]Should Existential Crisis be optional?

Don't you think it to be unfair to make it optional just because someone's machine wouldn't handle it? In essence locking a content to a user because of his machine performance??? THIS is unfair and I'm saying NO at it. It needs to be made optional but, for anything in the world, not because of per...

Re: Giant Xenon ship right in the base!

It's just more work, I guess. An alarm itself is easy enough to add, but people reacting to it need topical places on the station to go to, and animations to do when they get there. Even just standing around "panicking".

Re: [Poll]Should Existential Crisis be optional?

I'd much rather instigate it myself than have it just turn up demanding credits. This game assumes way too often that every player is or wants to be running a trade empire. You can't just figure that if someone has x value of military assets they also necessarily have an economy to support fighting ...

Re: [FEEDBACK] Existential Crisis

I failed my first Xenon incursion because both of my big military fleets were far from the incursion point when the notification came and the incursion began. My fleets were in The Void and Hatikvah's Choice I, the incursion spawned in Grand Exchange. There was not enough time to move my fleets or ...

Re: Artificial progression & economy nerfs should just be completely removed

I mean you can imagine it however you like but the game does not, as far as I have seen, make even a cursory effort to make that difference seem reasonable in-universe. I'm not going to give them credit for what players tell themselves.
