In this case I'm not sure that a save will necessarily help. The problem is likely to be that the game installation is modified or corrupt. A full Steam file verification should solve it, but of course any savegames that have been saved with the game modified will themselves be marked as modified. ...

Did you use "accept estimate" for funds ? In theory, the station can't afford it even if there often extra money especially if one of your ship sell goods or the station itself transfer wares. Player owned traders (auto or station) don't care about building funds as they can deliver wares to build ...

Protecting mining ships can be tricky. L ship resist khaak but they will get killed by destroyer from SCA or Xenon. Some L-Miner got weaker shield so check Recharge rate.
