Re: X-TRA POLLS Round #6 | Have you played multiple gamestarts?
Started as Young Gun, and after CoH came out, I first went for Terran Cadet, then Project Genesis. One might say I'm a bit biased towards humans, but it is what it is.

Re: X-TRA POLLS Round #5 | What type of ship do you primarily use?
If it's for personal use, then I really like the freedom and sturdiness of a Katana or Nemesis, or sitting in my Astrid and managing everything from my chair. Except if I have to clean out some Xenon sector (or other heavy lifting), then I take a Rattlesnake, Syn or Odysseus. But whenever I can, I s...

Re: [Poll]Should Existential Crisis be optional?
Well, I think I have made my point for a truly optional option sufficiently clear in other threads.
But I'll gladly say it here again: yes to truly optional. Optional as in you have to click a button to start the event.

Re: Existential Crisis Details Requested
Man, how many times do I have to say that I think you ought to be able to play however you want? Rather, what I think is that the existential crisis feature is going to have to introduce some meaningful consequence to choice for military fleet possession to matter. *sigh* You have a leap in your lo...

Re: Existential Crisis Details Requested
So you can swear up and down that you're a champion of sandbox choice and agency, but all I see is a guy who thinks a massive death fleet is okay as a mere decoration. Well, think what you want, in the end your argument boils down to enforcing your idea of fun on everyone. That hitting a threshold ...

Re: Existential Crisis Details Requested
Fair enough, but one thing that gets me here is, if this feature is intended to be strictly to test larger military fleets, and it can be avoided by having less than (coincidentally also) 500M in military fleets, couldn't a peaceful player just choose not to keep around such a fleet and never trigg...

Re: Existential Crisis Details Requested
Perhaps I lack the diplomatic chops to communicate this simple idea, "if anything 'ruins' the game for you, it requires you hold ideas that make it capable of doing so." You can also look at it from another angle. The game has offered me a certain experience for years now, it scratched my itch, and...

Re: Existential Crisis Details Requested
I think the trouble with xant's opinion on the existential crisis is this: he's not having one yet. Many of us are. Oh, how edgy. 8) I have a very sober counter-argument, though: There is absolutely no trouble with my opinion. I'm just too old to willingly put up with stuff that I don't enjoy. I kn...

Re: [FEEDBACK] Existential Crisis
It's this endgame monotony that the existential crisis ought to target, in my opinion. And leaving you alone in your cage is probably the worst thing they can do. I fully understand where you're coming from, and I know you only mean well. But a saying comes to mind, maybe you know it: the way to he...

Re: [FEEDBACK] Existential Crisis
Ok now I understand, and I agree too. But can we agree that saying its ruining our game is a bit of an exhaggeration? I don't know about your game, but it certainly ruins mine. Not by inflicting heavy losses, mind you, or by destroying vital infrastructure. It ruins my game by forcing me into this ...

Re: [FEEDBACK] Existential Crisis
To the people saying they want it to be optional, what is it you want exactly? I cant see how it isnt optional as it is? Optional means completely optional. In gameplay terms, that would be having you do something to begin it, fly to a physical location and start it on purpose, or talk to Boso and ...

Re: [FEEDBACK] Existential Crisis
My latest piece of feedback on the crisis, now that we can delay it as of Beta 3 : It still feels pretty bad. You're presented with three terrible options: pay half a billion to remove the mechanic, pay ten million to delay it for a time, or suffer the game spawning ships on your assets, with no way...

Re: [7.0 Beta 2] Is teleporting Kha'ak the new normal? (Feedback)
I WANT Kha'ak to be a threat, but not a cheesy threat that teleports in and insta-kills ships. This will get old REALLY fast for me. Even if we could automate "reinforcements" to replace lost assets in the same role, it'd be a bit irksome. What do people think? Should teleporting Kha'ak be a thing?...

Re: [FEEDBACK] Existential Crisis
Curious if anyone has used the 'delay' option after the first crisis attack & can say how long the delay is. I picked it (paid 10 mill) to see how long it lasts before the crisis pops up again. I haven't checked yet, but do I understand you correctly that the newly introduced delay option costs mon...

There is another site for that kind of comparison/information, one that is even better than Roguey I think: https://www.qsna.eu/x4/ships

Re: X-TRA POLLS Round #3 | How long have you been playing your current savegame?
Over 1000, by far. Started a new Terran game when CoH came out, and never left that save and the safety it provides me. Even after longer breaks from the game, loading that save up is like coming home. I also want to say that despite dearly loving my save, I wouldn't have minded way more severe over...

[7.0 beta 2] Visual bug - Xenon weapon doesn't fit
When upgrading/repairing a Xenon B I just captured, the weapon doesn't fit in the display box, cutting off a good portion of its tip. I'm playing on a resolution of 3440 x 1440, if that has any bearing here.

Re: [FEEDBACK] Existential Crisis
Gave it another shot today, this time I followed the advice someone gave to move your military ships somewhere else. So I put all my fleets in The Void, two jumps away from Asteroid Belt. I only left the Erlking and a Syn at home, a few Katanas as police, and that's mostly it. Only civilian stuff. T...

Re: Suggestions for existential crisis
As far as I know, spawning enemies in the center of players' base/city/system as a surprise attack is common practice in all types of games. Only that those games don't advertise themselves as true simulations, in which everyone follows the rules and nobody can cheat. Such a cheap trick might work ...
