[#1779][6.20] destroyer "attacking" station in low attention doing no damage

I have a destroyer set to defend a position in order to farm BUC ships for upgrade parts. At some point, BUC built a station nearby, and the ship is occasionally drawn into attacking it. You can find the ship (XYA-931) in Pious Mists IV doing this presently.

Normally I tell it to stop, because it would take it a very long time to achieve anything, and I don't really care about the station. But I noticed in this case, it's not even doing any damage. The ship appears to be sitting completely still, "attacking" the station without doing any harm to it at all. I watched for some time, saw no change to the station's health, reloaded the save, waited, and got the same result.
