I don't think I was supposed to wait 4 days before doing the Avarice plot...

I decided not to give in to Northriver Company and they put out a bounty on my head.
I've left Vigor to their own devices for 4 entire days and now they might be legitimately the most powerful entity in the known universe, and they've all got it out for me. I've killed so many Barbarossas and Kyds but they keep coming...
My plan at this point is legitimately to grind to 27 rep with Teladi Company so I can sneak on board the Vigor wharfs and shut down their ship production, because they're just handily replacing every ship I down while the Teladi supply them. I don't think I'm getting anywhere near the mission objective otherwise, too much missile spam.

I had the same problem. I solved it this way:
1. Placed satelites in the sector
2. Positioned myself in a Raptor with many Plasma turrets in the Argon System to the south
3. There was a big Fleet of Ships patrolling the VIG sector, so I waited till they were reasonably far away from the south gate
4. Flew in with the raptor, travel mode to the station which was east of the south gate (though a couple 100 kms away), kill the station while the fighters were chasing me. Along the way I dropped many, many laser towers. Also the rator's fighters I let out once I was at the station.
It took I think about 10 attempts, but I made it

Great idea! I might try something similar, but instead drag them south so I can destroy their ship production in the north. I think I'd like to take two of their sectors for my own, just to say I did.

A fast player M ship could probably torpedo bomb key installations without much fear of being caught by AI fighters. Personally I look forward to fighting VIG in each game tho lol, gives me something to build up for.

It's definitely exciting lol! I'm just not sure that VIG was ever intended to become a superpower that could probably take on ARG, TEL, AND PAR simultaneously without breaking a sweat

I don't think they've made more ships for this in particular, they really just make a lot naturally. The difficulty largely stems from their faction ship quota being mostly fighters, often armed with torpedoes, condensed into very little space. Most ships and weapons in X4 are not particularly strong vs fighters, and torpedoes deal a lot of damage to capitals that might have worn them down over time, so you're left with either meeting them with an equivalent force in fighters, or resorting to peculiar VIG specific loadouts like destroyers dedicated to homing missiles.
I'm thinking of trying missile Syns escorting a carrier or two of interceptors and an Asgard this time...

I can't get a single wharf in the entire universe to sell me a torpedo (I assume VIG is hoovering up every missile component in existence). I might have to manufacture them myself JUST to put torpedoes on a single fighter.

Funny enough, VIG don't use missile components. It's not uncommon to have some shortages though, particularly in a new game or one that Xenon have caused heavy damage to.

Is there any resource where I can find the health of station modules? I emptied 40 heavy torpedoes into a wharf's building module and it's at 90%. At this point it's getting frustrating. I've killed 25 destroyers but the Teladi keep happily shipping Vigor wares to build more and I have no way to ask them "hey, can you not do that" or even "hey I will pay you to literally just not do that"

I'm pretty sure I've been doing nothing but trying and failing to kill this wharf and shipyard for 15 hours now. I've tried dumping 100 tracker mines in it with an M ship, rushing it with 100 Moreya and 3 destroyers (closest, 50%), hitting it with a full M ship's worth of torpedoes.
At this point I'm gonna station bomb it. Boso Ta, help

Just tested and putting spacesuit bombs on it won't work either. I can't get anywhere near the station without getting vaporised by security. To be fair that's kind of what I was expecting but I was hoping for a lucky break

I'm not sure, there are health bars in station info but I believe you may have to scan them to be sure, which probably isn't a good idea...Mrs_L wrote: ↑Fri, 14. At 10% it's probably when I'd expect a Xenon defence platform to lose its first module. Guessing a build module may be tougher however.

You could, with some finagling.
Build a trade station and set buy prices to max. Hoover them up yourself. For bonus set Teladi only trade lists and let your traders go out and hoover everything up.
Not that I think it'll help, I'm fairly sure RIP with their scrap processing is providing them a lot of raw materials anyway.

I remember only bringing 3 destroyers the first time and getting owned...
Viable options depend on how big your fleet is, but the cheapest way by far is to load up a ton of laser towers to swat all those pesky fighters whilst you send your destroyers / torpedo boats to snipe the station.
Lure them in your own ship, deploy lasers and send AI capitals. Easy win.
For fun, I did try to do a massive fighter battle before that and although that was a great battle, I did suffer heavy casualties. So using all of those stolen laser towers is just more efficient to preserve my profitsssss

Ouch... Reading your stories make me feel a bit cheap/cheaty right now... When I decided to do VIG Northriver plot, I'd already researched the high-mass teleportation drive...
I loaded PHQ with enough material to teleport on top of the target station then out. Surprisingly, my rep didn't ditch irrevocably low, and now I'm running at +28/+30 with VIG
yeah... from time to time, for some reason, I'm losing 1 pt of rep here and there... go figure.

Doesn't matter, it always looks like this, regardless how long the time period is... even if you are prepared and await the "declaration of war" to clean the 3 VIG sectors, they still rebuild everything, even in "your" territory... always a ton of fighters, a lot of them with torps (so even bigships take some serious hits).Mrs_L wrote: ↑Thu, 13. At least you "only" have to destroy one single station for the Plot.

After a total destroyer killcount of 25(!) and an uncountable number of Shih and Kyd kills, I am proud to report a pyrrhic success, at the cost of my custom destroyer and personal fighter. But it doesn't matter, 2 VIG systems are mine, and the profitsss will flow.

Like I built up a huge fleet with Ms on Intercept for my destroyers and a whole bunch of shit. Multiple carriers with fighters and all that.
It wasn't fun at all with how it was almost like playing Powerpoint.
