[7B3] Double clicking a Fleet invariably does not take you to the map location of the fleet
Maybe hard to repro, and maybe dependant upon system (See signature)

On the Map, click Properties Icon
Now double click one of my Fleets, then double click another Fleet, then try another ..
.. The issue is (and probably as mentioned dependant upon your system spec) - A lot of the time double clicking a Fleet does not take you to the Fleets location on the Map.
I considered maybe this id due to windows setting for Double click timing .. But prior to 7 Beta I had no problems Double clicking a Fleet and the game would take me to the map location of where that fleet is located.
Since 7 Beta (1,2,3) Double clicking any Fleet has been problematic.
Maybe I need to be quicker double clicking now?, but this is new to all of the 7 Beta's.

Re: [7B3] Double clicking a Fleet invariably does not take you to the map location of the fleet
Double clicking all of my fleets worked without issue. So not sure if its more specific than any fleet. All my fleets are miners at the moment.

So you have nothing useful to add to the bug report topic for the developers appreciation.Monstrosity wrote: ↑Fri, 26. Apr 24, 01:15Double clicking all of my fleets worked without issue. So not sure if its more specific than any fleet. All my fleets are miners at the moment.

Re: [7B3] Double clicking a Fleet invariably does not take you to the map location of the fleet
I’m stating it’s not a problem for everyone or every fleet and it may be more specific to your hardware/software configuration or fleet composition.alt3rn1ty wrote: ↑Fri, 26. It’s a valid data point.
Re: [7B3] Double clicking a Fleet invariably does not take you to the map location of the fleet
In my 6.20 game I have to triple click on my fleet name to get the map to jump to their sector. Sounds like this bug has creeped into 7.x?

“Invariably” means always. So I was stating it’s not always for everyone. But it’s, no need to comment further if the devs have an issue with it they can delete the post. Sorry to offend you for making a comment.alt3rn1ty wrote: ↑Fri, 26. Apr 24, 11:33Its a valid data point which was mentioned in the first sentence of the OP.Monstrosity wrote: ↑Fri, 26. Re: [7B3] Double clicking a Fleet invariably does not take you to the map location of the fleet
Oh no offense taken. We are just probably wasting Devs time who will be reading through a bug report topic for anything relevant and helpful, so unnecessary conversations here are kind of frowned upon. My response was just a heads up.

Re: [7B3] Double clicking a Fleet invariably does not take you to the map location of the fleet
What sort of mouse connection do you use?
I have to spam the LMB somewhat to get the game to realize that I have by all other accounts, double-clicked.
My system is suitable for most things without needing to forage for ways to improve perf. etc. However X4 is among the applications that I ack, time to upgrade or replace my system. I kind of think this may be my problem. My game gains lag as the user data has grown and activating the extensions is an immediate and noticable gameplay lag for my system.
..incidentally I stick to wired PS/2 connections for KB and mouse. Wired USB counterparts are on stand-by with the xbox controller for when the technology turd falls into my path every blue moon.
I have not switched to USB wired mouse.. Frankly I didn't even know 2-click would potentially pan the map to a fleet.. Had just been using other methods.
Anyhow, the drivers can come into play for wired and wireless under some conditions. RE: I need to bootstrap with custom code sometimes which does not work with USB control peripherals.
I may give the USB mouse a go just to see if there is any difference. So far, I've simply adapted as needed for known things, but this 2-click would be nice now that I understand it's in there.

Re: [7B3] Double clicking a Fleet invariably does not take you to the map location of the fleet
I have two, both are wired usb
Corsair M65 Ultra
MadCatz R.A.T Mk7
USB ports are all usb 3, and both mice produce the same issue but only in X4 7 Betas'.
After lots more experience with the betas I have found its not a constant issue, there are times when double clicking works as it always has.
So I'm guessing the game UI lags when things are too busy?, but it doesnt seem all that busy to me and the FPS is good.
Triple clicking does what double clicking should, reliably. So in the betas i have now just got used to triple clicking.

Re: [7B3] Double clicking a Fleet invariably does not take you to the map location of the fleet
Not sure what you consider quicker. For me it feels like the normal double click speed and that works, unlike slower "double clicks" which don't seem to register.
Does this feel the same with both devices, do you have any software that may be slowing them down? Does it feel the same with "heavier" save games then say ones with less stuff happening?
If you have log enable check if there is any input or UI related errors.

Re: [7B3] Double clicking a Fleet invariably does not take you to the map location of the fleet
Yes
No, nothing additional in the system tray, no additional background services, just Windows 11 doing whatever it does when a game is playingdo you have any software that may be slowing them down?
I think this is key. The game overall in the betas is a lot better in the performance department than 6.2, but it still can get heavy on a laptop .. The puzzling thing is 6.2 did not have the same issue when things got busy.Does it feel the same with "heavier" save games then say ones with less stuff happening?
Going to enable it and see if I can come up with anything. If you have log enable check if there is any input or UI related errors.

Ok I just had the log running, recreated the issue with double clicking 6 times (out of 15 attempts), but I dont think there is anything relevant in the debug.txt
