With NPC sectors, Core / Border security have a pretty understandable use. For a sector you control, what does setting the security do? Is it just a flavor detail or does it impact who enters?
Sorry if this has been answered, I failed to find an explanation.

For the hub sector I deliberately keep all my ships and stations at either the top or bottom and I also put jump beacons by both so my ships don't have to share use of the gates with the riff-raff as they come and go

I cause a little carnage for those hostile to me in there. I've got an Odysseus, 4 Cerberus, 2 Thresher, 8 Heavy Hydra and a few other frigates poppin heads and forgettin names.
