Hello guys,
I wondered if I could get some help with setup up my gamepad controller and working out what the best button layout might be. I am using an 8bitdo Pro 2 controller.
So at the moment I have:
Left stick: Strafe
Right stick: Stearing
Left click/left paddle: Brake to stop
Right click/right paddle: Boost
D pad left: Decellerate
D pad right: Accellerate
D up: Unused
D pad down: Unused
Select: Jumpdrive
Start: Side menu
Y button: Info/Auto pilot
X button: Target/Target nearest enemy
B button: Select menu item/SETA
A button: Cancel
L1: Roll left/counter clockwise
R1: Roll right/clockwise
L2: Fire missle
R2: Fire weapons
So the setup I have at the moment. It's a nintendo style button configuration but I've set it up as an xbox would be. I do have button that I'm not quite sure what to do with and it is very much a work in progress but I needed to start somewere.
If anyone else is using a gamepad it would be really helpful (and interesting) if you could also post your layout.
Thanks.
Edit: Maybe I should switch L2 + R2 with L1 + R1. I just blew up my capped ship with a missile. Seems very easy to accidently hit the triggers. I could then setup L1 as something like Jumpdrive/Missle so missles don't get fired accidently. Also seems to be harder to focus on multiple buttons at the same time so I might put roll onto the left stick and not bother with the strafe drive. Trying to focus on many things while fighting just seems to get me killed. Or maybe I just need practice.
