hmmm, interesting.. :roll:

- did have a BFBC2 loading issue with 10.5 - wondered what that was all about..
- haven't tried it with the new driver yet..

just sticking it on now - back in a bit..

EDIT: BFBC2 10.6 works perfectly with 2x4890's
- the new Crossfire profile is also available from the linkie..

Its just a single 4850 I have, and once I put the hotfix drivers on I definitely noticed the difference - among the first 5-10 users into a new map now; rather than last place.

Anyone know why June's Catalyst 10.6 (which I am using now with Vista x64 and an ATI HD4870 pcie card) has disappeared off the ATI/AMD update site which has gone back to offering May's Catalyst 10.5 as the latest ATI driver suite?

Thanks. What an odd glitch for an update site to have! I wondered whether 10.6 had been withdrawn for a bugfix, but the issue dates don't seem to have changed.

- had a slight hiccup installing it over W7 64-Bit SP1(BETA)
- screen hang - just rebooted and it came up fine.. (?)

In previous Catalyst updates for my Vista x64, I was always asked to reboot after installation. With 10.7 it didn't ask (whether by design or a glitch I'm unsure) but no U-Tube vids would run properly until after a reboot. Just so other people know that a reboot is necessary.

Yeah, I think thats a feature of Win7/Vista whereby they tried to remove reboot requirements for drivers. ATI normally prompts but sometimes it doesn't, 10.7 has done for myself today.

I'll give this a go with BC2 later on, see if my load times have increased or if my performance has improved (running mostly high settings, so it isn't the smoothest game for me). Probably getting close to a graphics card upgrade soon... wallet doesn't agree.

No problems with YouTube videos even without a reboot here (Win7 x64). I've not had a chance to test properly but nothing has exploded so far!

Health warning: clicking at random on one of the featured videos and at the top of the YouTube homepage can result in a surprising amount of Katy Perry.

I personally can't see any problem with that :oops: , unless of course the wife walks in, as she is in Sweden (with 5 of my kids) for two weeks I am perhaps safe.

Have recently changed to ATI from Nvidia I am still getting used to catalyst does seem to get updated alot.

With so few applications using OpenCL, I can only see this version being of use to a developer, or have I misread the information.

Having read some more on the current projects using this; Egosoft sound like a prime candidate, it is being used for physics, Al game engine sub-systems and of-course modelling.

- I see they don't recommend it for the W7 (BETA),
- but it seems to have installed OK.. :gruebel:

AMD has released a hotfix for Catalyst™ 10.8b.
  • ATI Radeon™ HD 4870 X2 and ATI Radeon HD 4850 X2 use both Graphics Processing Units (GPU) for high performance
  • Ubisoft H.A.W.X with forced on Anisotropic Filtering (AF) using ATI Catalyst Control Center can improve performance for all graphics cards that support Microsoft DirectX® 10 (ATI Radeon HD 3xxx, ATI Radeon HD 4xxx and ATI Radeon HD 5xxx series of products)

I'm still sticking around with 10.4 ... since it's the only stable version for me to play BC2 ôô, not sure if I will try 10.8 ...

which card are you running, slienced?

10.8b runs BC2 beautifully via 4890's :gruebel:

Had problems with 10.6 and 10.7 with my 5970, got 0 problems with 10.4, so I'm a bit sceptic.
