Really? A "lottery win" and a "bank loan?" The guy grew up on a farm and worked hard...

And, you're making it out to be he won a lottery and got bank loans to finance his billion plus monies?

(Dunno who Betsy Vos is. "Betsy Devos" (DeVos?) is married to a rich guy that founded Amway. So, yeah, that's kinda crappy, I agree, since Amway should be banned and the whole place criminally prosecuted for "not feeling bad about being bad." :) )

Hasn't the UK been asking that same question for a few years, now?

I saw an amusing graphic on Facebook yesterday that basically said "2332 and Earth joins the United Federation of Planets. Meanwhile the UK continues to try to leave the EU"..

I was having the same thought. What's going on? Is everyone taking a break, until the eleventh hour, and will they then ask for more time?

@ Observe: No, the UK politicians are currently fixated about how to play the MEP election requirements, should it now be necessary here.

I find this not just a little bit funny.

It's all just so darn crazy. It's like someone decided to write a political sitcom staring "Reality" as the main character. Predicting where all this is going to go has got to be pretty darn easy. All one has to do is go sit in the writer's room for a few minutes.

"What's the funniest thing that could happen, now?"
"Wow, we've already topped "funniest." Have you seen the ratings? They're through the roof!"
"Yeah, but we have to keep pushing the boundaries! We're competing with "The Trump Show," you know."
"Tough competition. They started giving all the writers a "Creative Props" budget on that show and they're all smoking meth, now. Hard to beat that."
"I know! We'll hold an election for European Parliament seats!"
"Hah! Yeah, that's funny, but we've already got the whole Brexit thing going and-"
"See? THAT'S THE "FUNNY!""
"Oh wow, that's brilliant! Let's do it!"

How's Lord Buckethead doing? Ukraine already elected a comedian, so I don't see what's holding up the UK from electing pretend comic-book villains to office.

I'll have you know that those are genuine blue blooded genuined DNAed English pretend comic-book villains. Put all that science nonsewonse to one side, what's important is that we have control of our own naughty Mr Beans. Not anybody else. Us. By which I mean, well, me.

Might as well... I mean, maybe his election would wake people up? Then again, that's why some people voted for Trump so it may not be that great of a strategy.

I think he should get the vote for this quote alone:
Your Prime Minister, your MP, Theresa May, called this election about Brexit. Have we heard from her what she plans to do about Brexit? No. This is mad. On Thursday, you are going to be faced with Prime Minister May, or Prime Minister Corbyn, against twenty-seven prime ministers from the European Union. It will be a shitshow.

So it seems he has better insight and more realistic than the sitting politicians. :)

So, they got the thing that did the thing?

I guess so, or else we'd hear a big sucking sound coming from the East...

Lemme guess - Two weeks before the "deadline" they'll start talking about how to talk about a solution, right?

not so fast..!!
not without taking a vote on when to decide to have a meeting on the matter..
and all sorts of pantomime nonsense with gold coaches and velvet-lined fripperies..
as usual, the City of London, and the bookies and lawyers will add to their offshore fortunes..

… Politicians are still arguing over Brexit. It's not making the news, so people think they aren't doing anything. It's amusing to see that even here with a disproportionate number of 'well educated' folk around, if the media aren't screaming about something, it's not happening. We really have turned into a world of sheep who need everything spelled out for them.
