You cannot change your username yourself. If you want to change your name, you will need to send a PM to a moderator or site admin.
Note that when your username changes your login name will also change. You will no longer be able to log on with the old name, but will have to use your new name.
Changing the username applies to all messages that you've ever posted, but does not alter the text within messages - so if someone has named or quoted you in a reply it may lead to confusion. Hence, you should only ask for your username to be changed if it's really necessary.
It's possible that moderators will refuse to change your username. This usually happens only when the change is inappropriate, the new user name is not meant seriously, or if the user is constantly requesting name changes.
