Right click satellite/beacon on map, select the deactivate/disable option.
Fly into the deactivated beacon/satellite, or fly near it and use the tractor beam (default O) to pick it up.

Founded a broken laser tover, disable it and collect. It repaired automatically.

Can also have npc pilots collect them if they have room–just right click and choose collect
