Essential to most entrepreneurs with growing fleets and also to those with own ship production, is the Upgrade Service. It allows upgrading ships at own trading stations, equipment docks and of course at the Spacelab Headquarters. This service is made available automatically and no additional fees are charged for using it, costing the same as if it were used at any other station. After applying the upgrades the credits are transferred to the local representative via data burst.
This system applies to software also, though these have to be added first, either through Diplomatic actions by using Agents or at the Explorers Guild.
