Warehouse ownership is only available from the Home of Light DLC. They are unique in that instead of possessing production lines, they can be set up to buy or sell any ware. As with other stations, ships can be assigned to their crew to Protect, Trade and/or Mine.In this respect, they are similar to some NPC stations.
Unfortunately, a bug in 4.0 leads to ships assigned as traders potentially buying and selling wares to and from the same Warhouse so they do not work property as a true Trade Station.
