Warehouse ownership is only available from the Home of Light DLC. They are unique in that instead of possessing production lines, they can be set up to buy or sell any ware. In this respect, they are similar to some NPC stations.
Unfortunately, if a Warehouse is setup to buy and sell the samecware, there is a bug in 4.0 leads to ships assigned as traders potentially buying and selling that can cause assigned trading ships to potentially buy and sell wares to and from the same Warhouse so they do not work property as a true Trade Station.
