Commentary

The cheapest and most basic Commonwealth laser weapon making it likely to be among the first purchases of a playthrough which does not already start with weapons. Many M5s can only equip this laser. The low hull dps (second lowest for a non shockwave laser) makes this weapon good at destroying equipment of larger ships but poor at killing anything bigger than an M5 unless used in mass. The high projectile speed, fire rate and low energy cost makes this laser efficient at intercepting smaller missiles however the damage and range is too low to kill heavier torpedoes before they get within damage splash radius meaning Phased Repeater Guns are preferable if the ship laser energy regeneration allows. This laser is automatically installed on any Fighter Drone MKI wares that are launched.
