1 Building a Complex
To start build a complex, you first need to build the stations you wish to complex, and they need to be close enough to each other (Within 20km) so you can connect them together.
1.1 Complex Construction Kit
The complex construction kit is used to create your initial complex, it contains the Complex Hub as well as some additional Extension Kits. This can be bought from a shipyard, or produced at your Headquarters.
Like other stations, you can use either your own TL or Hire a TL. However, if you use your own TL you will need to install the Build Command Software MK1 to be able to build a complex. Hired TL's should already have it installed.
1.2 Building Complex Hub
Once bought, you and the TL need to be in the sector with the stations you want to connect together
The complex is built in the same way as a normal factory, just choose the Complex Construction Kit as the station to unload.
Then you place the position of the complex hub. The complex hub acts as the docking port for your whole complex, so wherever you place it, is where any ships will goto when they need to dock at your complex.
It also has to be in range of the stations you wish to connect together.
1.3 Connecting Factories to Hub
Once selected, you will now select the stations you wish it to connect to.
The list will display all the factories that are in range of the proposed complex hub. You must select at least 2 to build the complex. Only factories can be linked to a complex, so you cant include your Headquarters or any Docks
Set all the factories you want to connect to "Yes".
The Connections amount at the bottom displays how many connections you have available. A single complex hub has 4 connections to begin with. You can increase this amount buy also buying Complex Extension Kits. Any Extension kits that are in the cargo bay of the TL will be included in the total.
So if you wish to connect 6 factories together you will need the Complex Construction Kit and 2 Complex Extension Kits in the Cargo hold of the TL.
Then just Select "Build Complex" and the complex hub will be built and linked together.
The induvial factories will be removed from the sector and property lists and replaced with a single complex hub item.
2 Expanding a Complex
You dont need to build the full complex in one go, you can always expand it later. To expand an existing complex, you need to Complex Extension Kits, one for each factory you wish to add.
NOTE: you dont need additional Complex Construction Kits, you only need the 1 to create the initial complex.
Load a TL with Complex Extension Kits, then you can deploy them, similar to create the complex, you will get to choose which stations to link. First you select the existing complex you wish to expand, then select the factories you wish to connect to it. The number of factories you can connect is limited by the number of Extension kits you have available.
