| Pointguard | Ships will form a semi-circular wall in front of leading ship | |
| Inverted Pointguard | Ships will form a semi-circular wall behind leading ship | |
| V Shape | Ships will fly in a v-shape formation, with leading ship at the front | |
| Inverted V Shape | Ships will fly in a v-shape formation, with leading ship at the back | |
| Cross | Ships will form a cross on the vertical plane | |
| Cross Forward | Ships will form a cross on the vertical plane, flying in steps backwards of the leading ship | |
| Cross Back | Ships will form a cross on the vertical plane, flying in steps forwards of the leading ship | |
| X Shape | Ships will form the shape of an 'x' on the vertical plane | |
| X Shape Forward | Ships will form the shape of an 'x' on the vertical plane, flying in steps backwards of the leading ship | |

| Triangle | Ships will form a closed triangle on the horizontal plane | |

| Twin | Ships will split into two groups, the second following the first closely | |
| Vulcan | Ships will follow leader, splitting into two branches the further they are from the front of the formation | |
| Dart Vertical | Ships will follow leader in branches on vertical plane, in rear-diagonal and line astern directions | |
| Dart Horizontal | Ships will follow leader in branches on horizontal plane, in rear-diagonal and line astern directions | |
| Echelon | Ships will line up with the leader on the horizontal plane, in one of four diagonal directions | 5 |
