Description Summary

The Low Frequency Locator (LFL), is a prototype tool used to scan the surroundings for very low frequency emitting signals. It is able to pick up these signals from a very long distance, but its accuracy suffers from it. If enabled the ship's HUD will display a pointer that roughly indicates the signal's origin. Its an excellent tool that helps finding things scattered around the galaxy. Things like derelict ships, floating crates containing various wares, but probably most importantly its the only tool that can identify any Hyperspeed Access Point (HSAP), which in turn may give access to parts of systems otherwise inaccessible, colloquially referred to as Remote System Location (RSL). The LFL can lead to lucrative discoveries, not by locating the objects themselves, but also for their Discovery Points value too, since those can then be turned in at the Exploration Guild for interesting rewards.
