Developer notes for changes in 3.00 Beta 1

UI

Target Elements

  • (IMPROVEMENT) The distance value shows a one digit decimal value for objects which are > 1km away now.
  • (BUGFIX) While in 1st-person, some mission targets incorrectly displayed a hull/shield bar (like buttons or pilot chairs) in certain cases (f.e. when they were selected) X4-350 - Getting issue details... STATUS
    (note: the screenshot/example for the pre 3.00 Beta 1 state differs a bit as the mission target used a different color before 3.00 Beta 1)

Weapon Panel

  • (BUGFIX) If a weapon is assigned to a primary and a secondary group, it was incorrectly displayed as active for the primary as well as the secondary weapon list, even if only one of the currently active primary/secondary weapon groups had it assigned. Target Elements

  • (IMPROVEMENT) The visual difference representing whether a target is inside or outside weapon range improved slightly and also use a differently sized bracket-element for when the target is the softtarget. (improves change done during 3.00 development)

Crosshair

  • (REMOVED) The old "mission objective update" effect in the crosshair was dropped (since this is superseded by the new mission bar (see below)

Mission Bar

  • (NEW FEATURE) A new mission bar appears in the center of the screen, if the current mission objective changes:

Target Element

  • (IMPROVEMENT) A sound was added for the aim-ahead indicator, when it changes its state between in and out of weapon range.

Weapon Panel

  • (BUGFIX) Fixed EMP bomb being displayed as inactive, even if it's active (regression introduced in 3.00 Beta 1).

General

  • (IMPROVEMENT) The behavior of the UI scale setting (options menu -> settings -> game settings) was adjusted to get more reasonable results on the more common display resolutions out there. This is especially notable on monitors with horizontal resolutions >1920. The following screenshots provide an overview of how the UI elements behaved before 3.00 Beta 5 and after on different resolutions.
