Functions and applications
M2+ heavy destroyers have top end stats with regards to weaponry, laser energy management and shielding at the cost of speed and affordability. All M2+ ships have unique quirks that make them ideal for certain situations which is why many players use them either as flagships for fleets or as a preferred end game player ship. Due to the low initial max speeds, players using M2+ ships tend to devote a lot of time to collecting Pandora Tunings in UFJD sectors. As the majority of M2+ ships have a very long length and hit box, extra care must be taken to avoid collision, especially in sectors with asteroids close to the Jump Gate. In combat the large hit box makes M2+ ships vulnerable to missiles from some approaches (Megalodon is highly prone to blind spots) so performing a barrel roll can reduce vulnerabilities if unescorted. All M2+ ships take multiple game days to construct in the Player Headquarters (Xenon I is the most reasonable with a construction time comparable to all other M2s while the Valhalla takes a frustrating 5.5 days to build) so it is recommended to purchase M2+ ships from NPC shipyards when possible.
