Some issues with XR 4.1:

  • Zones can actually often not be conquered. Some of the reasons include hidden ships in zones that cannot be destroyed because they are located too far away from the center, 0 build spot left (which is the case for most Xenon zones and some others), and stations that cannot be destroyed (e.g. the Xenon matrix in XZ beta or in Schrödingers Drift); because of that, some factions like the Xenon cannot be eliminated.
  • Outpost building often fails without explanation, so you have to figure out if a bug is in effect or if a condition is not met. You can tell if a zone has no build spot left by talking to a CV architect in your squad and ask to build a station in a specific zone - there will be an error message if there are no build spot left.
  • Station boarding often does not work, the marines do not all reach the target and the process stalls forever, sometimes triggering screen blackout and loud noise. See here for a workaround.
  • Shipyards built with a contractor do not work: building ships costs both money and resources, and sometimes the shipyard builds something unwanted and does not add any commander to the ship. This seems to be caused by 3 problems: 1) the ship traders are not in the player faction (this can be checked by looking at the station management: the traders should be listed if they are in the player faction), 2) the ship traders do not share the player account (when they do, the money they gain goes back to the player), and 3) the shipyard manager has an associated script to build ships automatically. These issues might be solved by using diplomacy and selling/buying back the shipyard, or editing a saved game for 1) and 2) and replacing the station manager.
  • Some outposts are built with 2 engineers. This prevents recycling with the Station Recycle mod (they can still be destroyed).
  • A station destroyed by the Skunk will not disappear. Apparently capital ships firing at the station are needed for that. Sometimes capital ships do not fire at hostile stations; changing the defense officer attack mode might help with that.
  • After Plutarch lost all stations and zones, it still spawns many trade ships in Cuspid Splint every time a game is loaded.

 

Xenon stations (issues when player-owned)

Problems:

  1. The Xenon Matrix cannot be fully-extended when built by the player.
  2. If built by a contractor for the player, the Xenon Matrix will be fully-extended but the NPC that spawn are wrong.
